We are sharing the February interview of our aHa Teknoloji Founding Partner Elvan Aygün Anbar with ST Endüstri Otomasyon magazine with our valued readers.
Elvan Aygün Anbar sheds light on the new generation SVG solutions they have developed in the field of power electronics, their vision for domestic production, and their global growth targets in our interview.
We discussed aHa Teknoloji from a broad perspective with Elvan Aygün Anbar, Co-Founder and Board Member of aHa Teknoloji, who stands out with the innovative solutions developed with a local engineering approach, covering topics ranging from aHa Teknoloji 's investment strategies to its local production vision, what it means to be “unique and local” in power electronics, to how next-generation SVG technologies are shaping the industry.
ST: We would like to get to know you...
I began my education at Işık University in the Psychology department, then continued at HKU in the International Trade department. I completed my master's degree in Marketing at Gaziantep University. I started my professional career at Sanko Holding. I have been working in the energy sector for about ten years. I continue my professional life as both a founding partner and a board member of aHa Teknoloji Company. As of November 2025, I am also concurrently serving as the chairperson of the board of directors of the Energy Industrialists Business People Association.
ST: Can we learn about your work schedule?
With my appointment as chairman of the board of directors at the association, my work schedule has become considerably busier.
Speaking specifically about our sector, production at our factory continues at full speed. Thanks to the intensive work of our R&D team, we ended 2025 on a high note in terms of developing new technologies.
ST: Can we get some information about the investments you have recently implemented and those you plan to implement?
As is well known, we have been a manufacturer of systems and devices in the field of power electronics for many years. We solve power quality problems in the grid with our state-of-the-art devices. We produce Active Harmonic Filters, Statcoms, Static Var Generators (New Generation Compensation Solution), and Energy Storage Systems. In the second half of 2025, we produced our SVG, which is the only module in the world with a power of 300 kVar. This investment passed the tests successfully and gave our company momentum. We received a significant number of orders from our dealers in the last quarter and closed the year on a positive note. We have allocated a substantial investment budget this year to continue R&D activities for the systems we are producing.
ST: Could you tell us about the activities that set your brand apart from your competitors and make it a leader in your industry?
I think it would be more explanatory to answer specifically for the compensation sector. Since the vast majority of our competitors source their devices from companies based in the Far East and manufacture them under their own brand names, all of their features, power ratings, device capabilities, and even their outer casings are identical. We continue to use a vertical design, but all of our competitors supply cassette-type modules.
We are the only company in the world with a 300 kVar SVG module; no other company produces a single module of this power. In addition, our competitors import active harmonic filters, disable certain features of the product through software, and sell it as an SVG, which is why their prices are not competitive. At aHa Teknoloji, we produce the Static Var Generator module, which serves as a compensation system, separately. We produce the Active Harmonic Filter separately.
The key feature that distinguishes our brand from our competitors is our particular focus on domestic production, uniqueness, and competitive pricing.
ST: Can we get some information about the products and services you offer?
Our product range includes Active Harmonic Filters, SVG, STATCOM, Energy Storage Systems, and Power Quality Analyzers. We definitely have a solution for every problem encountered in the grid. We have an extensive service network that can intervene anywhere in Turkey within the same day, 24/7. In addition, we can monitor our devices remotely and commission them remotely if our customers request it using remote monitoring modules.
ST: What developments are taking place globally in your sector, and how is the Turkish market affected by these developments?
Globally, older generation compensation systems are gradually becoming obsolete, with new generation SVG technologies taking center stage. One of the most significant problems is that everyone is trying to source products from the Far East, and it is impossible to say that they produce very high-quality products. We hope that this transition process within Turkey will ultimately lead to domestic production over time.
ST: What are your short- and long-term goals?
As always, we will continue to invest a large portion of our profits in the area we know best, power electronics, to develop our devices in the short and long term. A 30% global market share is among our long-term goals. A large team is working to increase our brand awareness abroad. With the support of our distributors, we are moving forward with confidence.
ST: Anything else you would like to add?
I hope that 2026 will be a prosperous year for our country and our industry. We will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that our country produces value-added products in every field.
